Foul Weather Sends Squads To Sidelines

Heavy rain forced suspension of the Class AA, Class A and Class B girls state high school fastpitch tournament at the South End Recreation Area on Saturday.

Spokane-area teams in the tournament are West Valley, Colville and East Valley.

The 16-team tournament is tentatively set to start at 9 a.m. Monday. The tournament will be a one-day, double-elimination event. However, director Jim Meyerhoff said more changes may be needed to complete the championships.

A final decision will be made today on whether games will be played Monday.
