Playfair To Add 2 Simulcasts

Playfair Race Course plans to add two tracks to its lineup of simulcast wagering sources.

The Spokane facility will offer full programs from Hastings Park in Vancouver, British Columbia, and Belmont Park in New York. Track officials hope to have Belmont in place this morning at 10:30, general manager Kim Rich said. Hastings starts at 6:30 p.m.

Golf

Former Spokane golfer Chris Mitchell defeated Steve Bowen in a four-hole playoff at Indian Summer Golf and Country Club to win the Lynx qualifier for the July 28-29 Fred Couples Invitational.

Bowen and Mitchell, with Tumwater (Wash.) Valley Municipal Golf Course, shot 3-under-par 69s.
