Multi-Talented Class Prepared For Future

What does is mean to be a member of Lakeside’s class of 1997? It means to have a high standard of excellence - whether in sports, academics or community service. Our class has proven itself an energetic, enthusiastic group with many talents in a diverse range of areas. And we have accomplished many things throughout our four years at Lakeside.

Athletically, our senior class has been very successful. About 75 percent of our students are involved in sports. Everybody works hard and has a lot of fun. Although not all teams have had the opportunity to compete at a state level, we have had state participants in cross country, tennis and track, and state placers in wrestling and basketball.

Besides being accomplished in sports, the class of 1997 has had its share of academic achievements.

This year’s graduating class has many students who strive for scholastic perfection in everything they do. By taking challenging courses in high school, we not only develop our minds, but we prepare ourselves for promising futures.

Ambitious students have accomplished many things. Some of the highlights include second and third places at math team state, academic and music scholarships and nominations to numerous nationallevel honors. We have also had participants in the Chase Youth Commission, National Youth Leaders Conference, Evergreen Boys State and All-State Band. These various achievements demonstrate that the class of 1997 is very accomplished.

This year’s graduating class is, by all means, an example of what a senior class can be. Through our commitment to education and school activities, we have shown to our community that we are a group of action, dedication and responsibility. We have been successful in our high school years. Now it is time to enlighten the world.
