A Wallace man died early Thursday after he lost control of his vehicle and it hit a telephone pole.
Tony P. Longley, 31, was driving northbound on state Highway 4 when he over-corrected, the car slid off the east side of the road, struck an embankment and vaulted into the pole.
A lifelong resident of Wallace, Longley graduated from Wallace High School in 1984 and was the head night shift cook at the Wallace Inn. He was married and had two daughters.
According an Idaho State Police report, Longley’s car wrapped completely around the pole, breaking it off. He was not wearing a seat belt and the accident was alcohol-related.
Longley had turned 31 the day before the accident, which occurred about 3:48 a.m.
