C. Bradley Chinn Named To Domestic Violence Post

From Staff And Wire Reports

Spokane attorney C. Bradley Chinn was named Wednesday to fill a new post as domestic violence commissioner in Spokane County District Court.

Chinn, 48, will move from private practice into a job expected to last about 18 months. The $80,000 annual salary comes from a federal grant.

District Court judges chose Chinn from 10 finalists.

He’s expected to start the job next month, backing up two District Court judges handling only domestic violence cases.

Chinn’s experience as a pro-tem District Court judge since 1994 helped land him the job, said Judge Sara Derr.

In his practice, Chinn has concentrated on handling appellate cases. He has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Drake University and a law degree from Gonzaga University.

From 1980 to 1988, Chinn worked as a Spokane County deputy prosecutor.

The new commissioner’s job coincides with increased efforts by county and city prosecutors to target family and relationship violence.
