Andres Galarraga and Jeff Reed each had a two-run homer among their three hits as the Colorado Rockies beat the Atlanta Braves 9-6 Wednesday in Denver.

Galarraga’s two RBIs increased his major-league lead to 68, while Reed drove in three runs.

The Rockies won twice in the three-game series with Atlanta and the paid crowd of 48,633 and actual attendance of 50,212 were Rockies franchise records.

Dodgers 10, Astros 5 Los Angeles

Raul Mondesi hit two homers and drove in five runs, leading Los Angeles to victory over Houston.

Mondesi hit a three-run shot in the first off Mike Hampton (2-5) to get the slumbering Los Angeles offense started, and added a two-run blast off Ramon Garcia in the seventh.

Expos 4, Phillies 3 Montreal

Mark Grudzielanek’s RBI double with two outs in the eighth inning lifted Montreal to a victory over Philadelphia, giving the Expos their sixth straight victory.

Marlins 6, Giants 3 San Francisco

A day after Kevin Brown pitched a no-hitter against San Francisco, Florida relied on its bats to beat the Giants.

Bobby Bonilla homered and drove in four runs and Moises Alou had three hits for the Marlins.

Reds 2, Pirates 1 Cincinnati

Terry Pendleton’s pinch double broke a seventh-inning tie as Cincinnati came from behind for the second consecutive night and beat Pittsburgh.

The Reds swept the two-game series and got their fifth victory in six games.

Cubs 5, Mets 4 Chicago

Scott Servais scored the go-ahead run on a wild pitch by Greg McMichael with two outs in the eighth inning, and Chicago stopped a six-game losing streak.

After John Olerud hit a three-run homer for the Mets in the top of the eighth that made it 4-4, the Cubs came back.

Cardinals 8, Padres 3 San Diego

Royce Clayton’s bases-loaded triple in the seventh broke the game open and Alan Benes matched his career-high with 11 strikeouts as St. Louis beat San Diego.

St. Louis ended Tony Gwynn’s hitting streak at 20 in beating the Padres for the fourth time in six games this year..

Clearing the bases

The Florida Marlins are 17-16 on the road after starting 4-11 when they were away from home. … Mets center field Lance Johnson, on the disabled list with shin splints, ran the bases before Tuesday’s game and may be activated this weekend. … Colorado’s Larry Walker went 0 for 3, dropping his major league-best average to .410.

Montreal reliever Lee Smith, who recorded save No. 478 Tuesday, has 49 lifetime saves against the Phillies, more than any other team in his career.
