Revived Ag Showcase Will Move To Seattle

Compiled From Wire Services

The successor to the defunct Pacific Northwest Agricultural Showcase will emerge this fall with a new name, focus and location.

The new version, called AgLink, plans to target policy-makers and others whose actions affect farming but who aren’t well-acquainted with the industry. In the past, the organizers wooed foreign produce buyers and encouraged their attendance at the event.

AgLink will be held in November in Seattle so more of the targeted group will be able to attend. The conference will be followed up by farm tours next spring, said Peggy Parker, whose Deming-based firm Parker and Associates has been hired by AgLink to plan the event.

The Ag Showcase had been held annually in Yakima since 1992, but was canceled last year.
