Andrew Young, former U.S. ambassador to the U.N. and two-term mayor of Atlanta, Ga., will deliver the keynote address at the Spokane Area Chamber of Commerce annual meeting Sept. 16.
The meeting also will kick off the chamber’s centennial year celebration.
Young served as an aide to Martin Luther King, Jr. during the civil rights movement, was executive vice president of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference and served three terms in Congress.
Currently, Young is chairman of the Southern Africa Enterprise Development Fund, a $100 million fund to help establish small and medium size businesses throughout South Africa.
