Post Falls Coach Hired At Freeman

Former Post Falls High boys basketball coach Scott Moore is the new girls coach at Freeman High.

Moore replaces John Hays at Freeman, a Class A school in Rockford.

“It was kind of a tough decision leaving Post Falls because there are some great people and students there,” Moore said. “But it was definitely time for a change.”

Moore was at Post Falls for five years, compiling a 73-46 record. The Trojans were fourth at last year’s State A-1 Tournament.

He agreed to resign prior to last season after falling out of favor with the administration.

“I didn’t have any future coaching at Post Falls and I honestly don’t know why. All I did was build a respectable program,” he said. “Freeman is a very good school and they support their coaches very well. I’m looking forward to that.”

Moore previously coached girls basketball at Lindbergh High in Renton.

“He’s a very outstanding young man and we’re really fortunate to have the caliber of coach that he is,” Freeman athletic director Art Bickler said.

Moore will teach business education classes and also coach girls JV softball.
