Spokane Mail On Time 92 Percent Of Time

From Staff And Wire Reports

Local mail arrived on time 92 percent of the time in major metropolitan areas this spring, the post office announced Wednesday.

And Spokane was right at the national average, according to the accounting firm Price Waterhouse, which measures postal performance by sending mail and measuring when it is received.

The record 92 percent national average was for first-class mail delivered overnight within the metro areas.

Seattle and Omaha, Neb., had the best delivery rates, 96 percent on time, the agency said. Billings, Mont., ranked near the top, delivering mail on time 94 percent of the time.
