Daughter Of Archie Moore Follows Dad To Boxing Glory

Philadelphia Inquirer

At first, J’Marie Moore tried to ignore her bloodlines. Working for a decade as a flight attendant, the 5-foot-10-1/2, 170-pound woman put boxing out of her mind, convincing herself that the brutality wasn’t for her.

But she couldn’t quite exorcise the attraction altogether, or the fact that her father was former champion Archie Moore, and so Friday night Moore made her pro debut in a bout against Gretta Daniels at the Tropicana Casino Resort in Atlantic City.

And she won, in a split decision, as the fight went the full four rounds. There were no knockdowns.
