Nba Employees Hurt

Compiled From Wire Services

A cruise boat crashed into a sports complex at a Hudson River pier where NBA employees were having a party, injuring at least a dozen people, though none seriously.

“They had quite a show,” Roland Betts, of Chelsea Piers Management, said of the NBA group.

Betts said The Spirit of New York apparently had been trying to dock but did not put its engine into reverse. “It nicked our pier and hit Pier 63 head on,” he said.

“The nose of the boat penetrated a few feet” into a recreation center that is under construction, Betts said.
