Ransom Paid But Priest Still Missing In Mexico
A kidnapped Jesuit priest remained missing Saturday despite a ransom paid a week ago.
The 74-year-old priest, Wilfredo Guinea, was seized June 17 when men in two cars blocked his vehicle in Mexico City. He is director of a Jesuit publishing house, Obra Nacional de la Buena Prensa.
The Jesuit order said it paid an undisclosed ransom for Guinea on June 22 after confirming that he was alive and received a call later that day saying Guinea had been released.
But as of Saturday, the priest had not turned up.
