Two Walk Away From Ultralight Crash

From Staff And Wire Reports

The pilot and passenger of an ultralight walked away from a crash Sunday north of Eloika Lake after one of the plane’s wings collapsed in mid-flight.

The plane was equipped with a parachute that brought the craft and its passengers safely to earth, said Pend Oreille County Sheriff’s deputy Andrew Fritz.

“They were pretty adrenaline-ridden when I got there,” Fritz said.

“They were pretty happy.”

The unidentified man and woman landed around 7 p.m. on the outskirts of Camp Reed, a YMCA camp on Fan Lake, which is north of Eloika Lake.
