Arizona’s Guards Do In Washington

Associated Press

Michael Dickerson scored 27 points and No. 15 Arizona’s undersized front-court players stole the show from Washington’s towering post players as the Wildcats rolled to a 103-82 Pacific-10 Conference men’s basketball victory Sunday.

The Wildcats (19-7, 11-5), outrebounded the Huskies 49-31 to avoid losing three straight to Washington for the first time in 13 years.

Mike Bibby had 20 points and seven assists for Arizona and Miles Simon had 14 of his 20 points in the second half, helping Arizona hold on after opening a 52-33 halftime lead.

Mark Sanford had 28 points for Washington (16-9, 9-7). Patrick Femerling, a 7-foot-1 sophomore, had 17 points, but he and 7-foot Todd MacCulloch were triple-teamed.
