Saint Mary’s, Usf Advance To Wcc Final

Kamran Sufi scored eight of his 10 points in the first 5 minutes of the second half Sunday night as Saint Mary’s routed Loyola Marymount 80-62 in the West Coast Conference tournament’s semifinals.

The Gaels (22-7) advanced to tonight’s title game against University of San Francisco (16-12), which defeated San Diego 64-61.

Sufi hit a layup and two 3-point baskets to help Saint Mary’s build a 46-30 lead en route to its eighth straight victory. Gerald Zimmerman had seven of his 23 points in the final 3-1/2 minutes for USF.
