Trojans Hire Ex-WSU Receiver

Compiled From Wire Services

Mike Wilson, a wide receiver on four San Francisco Super Bowl champions and an assistant coach for Oakland the past two years, has joined the USC Trojans’ staff.

Wilson, 38, who played for Washington State University, will be in charge of the USC wide receivers, coach John Robinson said.

Robinson also announced that Mike Barry, the Trojans’ offensive line coach since 1993, has taken on the additional duty of assistant head coach.

University of Oregon football coach Mike Bellotti hired Robin Ross to coach inside linebackers, a day after Bill Tarrow said he is retiring after 20 years on the Ducks’ staff.

Ross, whose 20 years of collegiate coaching experience include 12 years as a defensive coordinator, spent last season at Fresno State. He has also been an assistant at Washington State and Western Washington.
