Galbreath scored nine points in the fourth quarter, including a three-point play with 1:25 left in regulation to force OT… . Dustan Arlt scored 11 consecutive Broncos points in the second quarter, nine on 3-pointers, for a 34-26 lead. Key to the game: Junior Dan Pate of Almira/Coulee-Hartline (23-5) hit two free throws with 25.5 seconds left for a 48-45 lead, then Marty Carlson of the Hyaks (23-5) drove for a last-second lay-up rather than looking for a 3-pointer. “I thought they were going to shoot the 3,” said ACH guard Jason Pierce. “I don’t know what (Carlston) was thinking.”

Other highlights: Trailing 22-13 late in the second quarter, ACH rallied behind Pate’s seven points. A 9-0 run, starting midway through the third quarter, put the Warriors ahead to stay… . Tourney scoring and rebounding leader Jon Johnson of the Hyaks had 19 points and 16 rebounds to finish four days with 94 and 60. Johnson, a senior, finished his state experience with 136 points and 94 rebounds… . Pierce hit a 3-pointer with 2:54 left in the third quarter to hit the 101 mark for career tourney scoring. He didn’t score again.

Other highlights: TB junior Caleb Shamp hit six 3-pointers and scored 26 to complete his three-year State B career with 127 points. TB jumps to the 1A ranks next year… . Senior A.D. Russell, another threeyear veteran with the Crusaders, had 18 rebounds to hit 100 for his state career. Just 23 players have reached the century mark. Russell also finished with 128 career points.

Key to the game: Ritzville jumped out to a 9-2 lead and a 16-9 advantage after the first quarter. The Broncos’ Shannon Russel was the only player to make a 3-pointer. Her third one of the game with 41 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter ended the Wildcats’ title hopes.

Other highlights: Wilbur-Creston’s Alyssa Erickson was the only player to score in double figures with 12. The Wildcats shot just 26 percent (11-42) from the floor for the game. Ritzville fared a little better, making 15-48 shots for 31 percent.

Key to the game: The Eagles’ supporting cast turned in its finest performance of the tourney. Tricia Lamb scored 16 in her final game for St. John-Endicott. Eagles seniors Brooke Bafus and Cheryl Kile combined for 21 points. The Eagles shot 51 percent from the floor and were 5 of 9 from 3-point range.

Other highlights: Marcy Stennes had 18 points for the Nannies, while teammate Annie Neuneker scored 14. Pateros hit just 17 of 41 shots from the floor, but connected on 14 of 19 free-throw attempts.

Other highlights: Miranda Brown paced Tekoa-Oakesdale with a game-high 17 points, including 9-of-13 shooting from the freethrow line. The Nighthawks outrebounded the Crusaders 42-22 behind the 13 rebounds of Heather Cox.
