Associated Press

Two new special license plates honoring Idaho’s timber industry and its military veterans are now available statewide, the state Transportation Department says.

The timber plate is green, brown and gold on a white background, while featuring a woodsman planting a seedling and a crosscut saw at the bottom with the slogan “Forests Today and Tomorrow.”

In addition to regular registration fees, timber plates carry a $35 initial program fee and a $25 renewal fee. They can be personalized for an extra $25 program fee and $15 for renewal.

The Idaho veteran plate has a red stripe at the top with the word IDAHO and a blue stripe at the bottom with the word VETERAN. It can be overlaid with a decal of a conflict or war period recognized by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

In addition to the registration costs, the veterans plates carry a $25 initial fee and a $15 renewal cost. They can be personalized for an extra $25 program fee and $15 for renewal.
