You Can’t Spell Geraldo Without The E, G And O

Compiled By Staff Writer Rick Bo

So you were figuring Geraldo Rivera would dry up and blow away once the O.J. Simpson trials were over?

No such luck. The plucky talk host is alive and well and as full of himself as ever, based on the following excerpts from an interview in People magazine:

“I have had more street fights than anybody I think in the history of the world, probably. I’ve also cried more on-camera.”

“If you make this a story about Geraldo Rivera’s illegitimate child (who, he revealed, is now 9 years old and living in Texas), I’m going to take it to The National Enquirer first.”

“I demand respect at his stage of my career. What I want is to be one of the wise men of my generation.”

Loose talk

Professional houseguest Kato Kaelin, on arriving at Geraldo Rivera’s 10-acre New Jersey estate for a visit: “Do you have cable?”

They’re having a big party, you say? I’ll be there

Marlon Jackson turns 40 today.

Well, they are all basically birds of a feather

By the way, the names of Geraldo’s parakeets, according to People: Oprah, Sally, Maury and Montel.

But eventually, they were able to cut a deal

Nicole Brown Simpson’s infamous Bundy Street condo has been sold for around $595,000, a loss of about 10 percent from the $652,000 she had paid in 1994. “You won’t find a premium paid for properties with famous crime scenes,” Realtor Randall Bell told Buzz magazine.

It’s a case for a consummate professional

Daniel Petrocelli, who represented Ron Goldman’s family in the Simpson civil suit, has been hired by Lisa Marie Presley to help prove that her marriage to Michael Jackson was legitimate. The father of the boy who accused Jackson of molesting him claims the King of Pop violated their out-of-court settlement by discussing it on “PrimeTime Live.” Presley, however, can’t legally be forced to testify against her ex-husband unless it can be shown that the marriage was a sham.

If it does not ache, then he must be a fake

Former Simpson criminal attorney Johnnie Cochran Jr. received a rocky reception at a New York City high school, where he was taping a segment for his new Court TV show. “Does your conscience hurt you?” asked one girl, who rolled her eyes and sat down as Cochran rattled on about the need to defend innocent people.

But she’s had some pretty big ones for clients

During a discussion on ABC’s “Politically Incorrect,” satirist Harry Shearer piped up: “Lawyers are like car radiators and drunken sailors. They love to leak.” Replied Leslie Abramson, who defended convicted parent-killer Eric Menendez: “I never leak. I don’t even drip.”
