Foto Factory, a locally owned business specializing in one-hour film processing, has opened a new outlet in the Lincoln Heights area.
The retail space in the Safeway store plaza at 29th and Southeast Boulevard was previously occupied by Washington One Hour Photo, another local filmp-rocessing business.
Foto Factory owner Nathan Narrance said the new shop opened on March 1. It gives the business a geographical presence throughout Spokane County.
“It fills in the circle for us,” Narrance said.
There are two Foto Factory shops on the North Side and two in the Spokane Valley.
Narrance said the company had been seeking a South Hill location for the past four years.
Taking over the old Washington One Hour Photo makes advertising and promotional campaigns more efficient because potential customers on the South Hill now have an outlet where they can take their film or order enlargements, he said.
Foto Factory develops pictures in one hour from a variety of negatives in both color and black-and-white. Reprints and enlargements are available in sizes up to 20-by-30 inches.
The company specializes in commercial accounts, including photos for real estate, investigations or even school pictures. Customers also can have Christmas cards printed at Foto Factory at the last minute and get them back within a couple of days.
“We try to specialize in fast turnaround,” he said.
The first Foto Factory opened 13 years ago at 6427 N. Division.
With the opening of the Lincoln Heights shop, the firm now has 18 employees.
