Idaho Athletes Will Receive Sports Awards Olympic Star Dan O’Brien To Be Inducted Into Idaho Hall Of Fame

Finalists have been announced for awards to be doled out at the Idaho Sports Banquet on March 22 at The Coeur d’Alene Inn.

Former Sandpoint High star Alli Nieman is one of five finalists for North Idaho Female Athlete of the Year. Others include Wallace’s Dana Streeter, Troy’s Jessica Johnson and Moscow’s Jeanne Korus and Melissa Mills.

Coeur d’Alene’s John Friesz, quarterback of the Seattle Seahawks, joins Post Falls’ Darin Blood, Jacksonville Jaguars kicker Mike Hollis and former Moscow High standout Andrea Lloyd as finalists for Idaho Pro Athlete.

The banquet begins at 7:30, following a 6 p.m. social hour. Tickets can be purchased at Les Schwab Tire Center outlets in North Idaho and The Coeur d’Alene Inn.

Idaho Hall of Fame inductees will be Dan O’Brien, Olympic gold medalist and former Idaho track star; Steve Symms, former U.S. senator and former Vandals football player; Picabo Street, ‘96 Olympic silver medalist from the Sun Valley area; Frank Reberger, a Caldwell native who played baseball at UI and in the major leagues before becoming a big-league pitching coach.
