Some Idaho Taxpayers To Get Deadline Break
Taxpayers in disaster-affected counties will get a break on deadlines for paying Idaho property and income taxes.
Idaho Gov. Phil Batt today will sign legislation relaxing state income-tax deadlines for up to a year. Disaster victims also will receive a 60-day reprieve on paying property taxes.
The new law applies to both businesses and individuals.
“We want to do everything we can to help Idahoans who are recovering from disaster,” said Gov. Batt. “Allowing this extension provides temporary relief for taxpayers without impacting the general fund significantly.”
