NEW FACES:

Chris George has been appointed general manager of North West Juice & Beverage. George will assume marketing responsibilities for Washington, Idaho and Alaska. He spent 13 years in market development and management for Pepsi Cola and Alpac Beverages of Spokane and Seattle.

Denise Harfield has joined Clark Commercial Real Estate Co. as a sales associate specializing in retail. Harfield previously worked for R.W. Robideaux & Co. as director of leasing.

Sheri Perkins has joined Legalpros Personnel Services, a Spokane-based employment service with specializes in the temporary and permanent placement in legal and administrative fields.

Debbie Wilson has joined Medicalpros Personnel Services, a Spokane-based employment service which specializes in temporary and permanent placements in the medical and clerical fields.

Phil Akers has been named associate vice president for development at Eastern Washington University and executive director of the EWU Foundation. Akers had been regional director of development with Washington State University-Spokane since 1994 and was director of annual giving at Gonzaga University from 1987 until 1994.

Arthur Bale and Suzette McGoldrick have joined RE/MAX of Spokane as agents. Bale is a retired Air Force captain and currently is the owner/broker of both the Airway Heights and the Coeur d’Alene RE/MAX offices. McGoldrick, who has been in the real estate industry in Spokane since 1991, has received the Realtor Excellence Award, Top Listing Agent and Top Producer Award.

Jim Wold has joined the telecommunications staff of Net-Tel Inc. Wold, who has been involved in management information systems and telecommunications since 1969, will specialize in installation, configuration and maintenance of wide area networks.

Bob Macdonald has been hired as a sales associate by Coldwell Banker Schneidmiller Realty in Coeur d’Alene. Macdonald served on the Coeur d’Alene City Council and for the past six years was a Kootenai County commissioner.

Maggie Crabtree has joined the Spokane Shriners Hospitals for Children as public relations manager. Crabtree is a graduate of Eastern Washington University and has extensive experience in hospital and health care public relations and marketing.

MOVING UP:

William Gray, dean of the Washington State University campus at Spokane, has been named campus executive officer and campus dean. Gray’s new title reflects his expanded scope of duties. The Spokane branch campus, established in 1989, has seen a steady increase in faculty, staff and students, as well as physical facilities. Gray has headed the operation since its inception.

Washington Trust Bank has promoted Lori Jo Knoles, small business banking officer, to loan underwriter and SBA loan originator. Shirley Sotomayor and Randi Rinker have both been promoted to small business loan originators. Sotomayor is assigned to the bank’s Valley Financial Center, while Rinker works at the Northgate branch.

STARTING UP:

Kevin Williams and John Webster have formed the certified public accounting firm of Williams & Webster P.S. Williams has more that 25 years of experience as a controller and management consultant, while Webster has an extensive background in auditing and tax services in public practice. Located in the Seafirst Financial Center, the firm will provide general consulting, tax computer, auditing and accounting services for construction, health care, manufacturing, private and public companies.

Dr. Gina Yaritz-Tareski and Dr. Debra Yaritz have opened Central Chiropractic at 20 W. Central. The sisters both received their professional training at Northwestern College of Chiropractic in Minneapolis. Both previously worked for North Country Chiropractic.

The Public Relations Society of America Spokane Chapter has elected directors and officers for 1997. The officers are: president, Maria Ranniger, MTR Communications; president-elect, Teresa Steuckle, Spokane Transit Authority; past president, Patrick Lynch, Washington Water Power; secretary, Dorothy Spoerhase; treasurer, Jessie Wuerst, Alliance Pacific Inc.; accreditation, Jennifer West Public Relations; membership, Chris Eriksen, Rockwood Clinic.

Directors include: programs, Julie Smitt, 3E Designs; professional development, Chad Hutson, Spokane County Public Works, and Leni Selvaggio, Olivetti North America; PRSA Liaisons, Dale Goodwin, Gonzaga University and Jay Hopkins, Washington Water Power; events chair, Kelly Mumford, Group Health Northwest; and member at large, Anne McKeon, Holy Family Hospital.

Joe Levernier, vice president of Levernier Construction, has been elected 1997 president of the Inland Northwest Associated General Contractors, succeeding Jerry Cox of Clarkston. Other officers for 1997 are: vice presidents, Tom Clark, Shea Construction, and Eric Brown, Eric Brown Construction Inc. Bob Haney, Max J. Kuney Co., was re-elected treasurer.

New members of the AGC board of directors are: Chuck Eller, Eller Corp., Newman Lake; Mark Poe, Poe Asphalt Paving Inc., Lewiston; Ron Mickelson, Modern Dry Wall Inc.; and Mike McFarland, McFarland & Alton P.S.

KUDOS:

Douglas Marfice of the law firm of Ramsden & Lyons has passed the Washington State Bar Exam and will be admitted to practice law in Washington and Idaho.

Spangler Associates’ brand-building design work has been selected to appear in HOW Magazine’s 1997 Design Annual. Spangler worked with Spokane-based Farm Credit Services to create a marketing materials strategy that would reinforce the Farm Credit brand. The HOW competition drew nearly 5,000 entries.

Dan Schoedel, a retired partner of the certified public accounting firm Schoedel & Schoedel, has been named an honorary member of the American Institute of of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). The honorary member status is given to CPAs who have been members of the AICPA for 40 years.
