Calvary Baptist Hosting Gospel Music Workshop

Whitworth Presbyterian Church, 312 W. Hawthorne Road, has announced that its sister church, Calvary Baptist, is hosting a workshop on gospel music April 3-5. The workshop will feature the Voices of Calvary choir and will be held at the Baptist Church, 203 E. Third. All interested singers are invited to attend.

Rehearsals will be held at 6:30 p.m. on April 3 and 4. A light breakfast will be served at 9 a.m. on the April 5. The choir and workshop participants will present a concert Sunday, April 5 at 7 p.m. at Calvary Baptist.

The cost of the workshop is $10. To register, call Toni Chittester or Kris Fuller at Whitworth Presbyterian at 466-0305. The registration deadline is Sunday.

‘Behold This Man’

The choir of Emmanuel Presbyterian Church, 1926 W. Chelan, will present the Passion Cantata “Behold This Man” during the 10:30 a.m. worship service on Sunday. The cantata is based on American folk hymns. Also during the service, the children of the congregation will take part in a procession into the church carrying palm branches.

Palm Sunday worship service

North Hill Christian Church, 4620 N. Post, is holding a special Palm Sunday worship service at 11 a.m. Sunday. At the beginning of the service, the children will take part in a procession, carrying palms to be placed in baskets in the front of the church. Music during the service will be provided by the church’s handbell choir.

A bake sale auction will be held after the worship service at 12:15 p.m. All proceeds will be used for scholarships to send church youth to summer camp.

Easter Cantata

The Chancel choir of Lidgerwood Presbyterian Church will present the Easter Cantata “Redeeming Love,” Sunday during the 10:30 a.m. worship service. The cantata follows Christ during the last week of his life on Earth. The church is located at 4449 N. Nevada.

Annunciation luncheon

The Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 1703 N. Washington, is hosting a Greek Independence Day Annunciation luncheon on Sunday after the 10 a.m. worship service. The Fish Plaki luncheon will feature the church’s folk dancers.
