Food Drive Is In The Bag

People came through.

They donated more than 45,000 pounds of food to Saturday’s Spokesman-Review Food Drive - enough for 36,000 meals.

And that doesn’t even include food given in North Idaho, Cheney or Medical Lake.

In Spokane County, all the goods donated will be distributed among 19 emergency agencies that together serve 13,000 people. Half are children.

Newspaper carriers will be out again today.

To donate, leave non-perishable donations next to your mailbox in the special bags delivered in last Sunday’s paper.

No bag? In Spokane and the Spokane Valley, food can also be donated by dropping it off at fire stations.
