Stop The Runs And Enjoy The Hike

Nothing can ruin a good hike faster than diarrhea. But should you happen to find yourself with toilet paper in hand looking for a good rock or tree, remember these two tips for kicking a bad case of the runs.

First, drink heartily to prevent dehydration, but hold off on food for 12 to 24 hours.

When you finally start eating, start with small amounts of food and gradually work up to a full meal by using the BRAT diet: bananas, plain rice, apples and toast.
