Two kitchen employees at a posh resort got in an argument about how silverware should be loaded into the dishwasher.
One stormed out and got a gun, then returned to Marriott’s Casa Marina to finish the fight.
“The victim is the head dishwasher. The suspect is the busboy,” said Detective Sgt. Emilio Yannacone.
The busboy, Yannacone said, “wasn’t putting the flatware into the proper containers to be washed.”
After the two argued, Jose Antonio Borrell left the hotel. Forty-five minutes later he returned - with a Smith & Wesson 9 mm semi-automatic, Yannacone said.
“I think he went out somewhere to pick it up and put it under his shirt,” Yannacone said. “That’s premeditation.”
Borrell shot at his antagonist, Reyes Blas Morales, 37, six times, Yannacone said.
Morales was rushed to the hospital, where he died. Borrell fled but was quickly picked up by Key West police and arrested on a charge of first-degree murder.
