Firefighting Academy Goes Up In Flames

Russia’s oldest firefighting academy went up in flames Monday, and the best efforts of its cadets and alumni couldn’t keep it from burning to cinders.

The fire broke out on the top floor of the sprawling St. Petersburg firefighting school after classes were through for the day, and burned out of control for much of the evening, news reports said.
