Today, The Spokesman-Review introduces a full-color weather page on the back of the IN Life section, Page D8. It includes enhanced national weather information and new features related to Inland Northwest weather.
“A winter like the one just ended offers ample evidence that the weather plays an important role in shaping the lives of people around the Inland Northwest,” said Chris Peck, editor of the newspaper. “We wanted to improve our weather package so our readers can count on the most complete weather report available in the region.”
The new weather package will include expanded national temperatures, a better national weather map and rotating weather features each day. The rotating features will include ski resort updates, a weather week-in-review, air quality indicators and regular listings of the phases of the moon.
A full regional weather forecast for Eastern Washington, North Idaho, Western Washington and Western Montana will continue to be part of the package.
On Sunday, the new weather package will include an expanded Earthweek feature plus a new science feature that will show how science affects our daily lives.
Monday through Saturday, the color weather will appear on the back page of the IN Life section.
On Sunday, the color weather will appear on the back page of Sports.
Daily color comics will move inside the IN Life section.
Page A2, where weather used to appear, has been redesigned to include a daily index to the newspaper and to provide additional space for national and international news daily and a week-in-review news package on Sunday.
