Debut For Stadium

Jack Kent Cooke is scheduled to open the doors to his new 78,600-seat stadium in Landover, Md., on Sept. 14, when his Washington Redskins host the Arizona Cardinals in the third week of the NFL regular season.

The Kansas City Chiefs resigned unrestricted free-agent linebacker Derrick Thomas to a seven-year contract.
