Hints From Heloise

King Features Syndicate

Dear Heloise: A dear friend, whom I had known and loved for 45 years, lived alone in a distant city. Her family gave her little support or assistance.

For the last five years she lived in a lovely rest home where the people were caring and made her years from 90 to 95 as comfortable and happy as they could.

When she died last week, we chose not to send flowers to her funeral. Instead, we sent the administrator of the rest home enough money to arrange a party for all the nurses and aides on all three shifts who took such good care of her. I know my friend would have approved. - Corinne Patrick, Rosamond, Calif.

Your heart hint is one many people will now think about. I’m glad you wrote. - Heloise
