Valley Boy Hit By Pickup, In Critical Condition

A Spokane Valley boy was listed in critical condition late Thursday after being hit by a pickup truck while riding his bike, the Washington State Patrol said.

The boy, who wasn’t wearing a helmet, suffered head injuries in the crash. He was hit shortly before 5 p.m. at Sixth and Pines.

Keith J. Matt, 11, was taken to Valley Hospital and Medical Center and transferred later to Sacred Heart Medical Center.

Donald V. Willis, 43, of Mead was driving a 1990 Toyota pickup north on Pines when the boy rode his bike into the street, the State Patrol said.
