Wac Snubbed Again

Compiled From Wire Services

According to a report in the Provo (Utah) Daily Herald, college football’s Bowl Alliance has decided not to include a Western Athletic Conference champion ranked lower than No. 6 in the nation.

The paper reported that the WAC received a letter Tuesday from the Alliance explaining its decision after the WAC had proposed that its champion be included in the Alliance if ranked in the top 12.

The Big West Conference, after learning earlier this week that the Las Vegas Bowl will seek to change its format of inviting the BWC champion to its game, will go ahead with plans to pursue establishing a new postseason football bowl game for the coming season in Boise.

The new bowl game involving the Big West would be played at Bronco Stadium on the campus of Boise State University. The stadium is being expanded to 30,000 seats.
