Easter Services To Include Large Gatherings

Here is a list of some of Sunday’s biggest Easter services:

Lifecenter will host its annual Easter services at the Spokane Opera House at 9 and 11 a.m. Featured will be a drama, set in a Seattle Mariners’ game, detailing one man’s description of how God changed his life.

Free parking is available, and child care will be offered for children 4 and under.

A sunrise service will be at the foot of the cross in Greenwood Cemetery, 211 N. Government Way, at 6:30. Featured speakers will be the Rev. Terry McGonigal, a chaplain at Whitworth College, and Moses Pulel, a Whitworth College senior and president of its student body.

The service is sponsored by the Spokane Council of Ecumenical Ministries and Greenwood Memorial Terrace.

The Union Gospel Mission is sponsoring a sunrise service at 7 in Riverfront Park’s Lilac Bowl. Rolls and coffee will follow.

In the event of rain, the service will be moved to the Mission Chapel, 1224 E. Trent.

The Spokane Spiritual Center is hosting a community service at 10 a.m. at the Spokane Civic Theatre, 1020 N. Howard. Included will be a dramatization of Jesus meeting Mary after his resurrection.

The congregations of Peace Lutheran and Good Shepherd Lutheran churches will meet for a 6:30 a.m. Easter service at the Saltese Cemetery, 1-1/2 miles east of Sullivan Road on Saltese Road. Refreshments will be follow.

Opportunity Free Methodist Church will hold a community service at 10 a.m. at Central Valley High School, 821 S. Sullivan Road. An Easter egg hunt will follow at 11:35 a.m.

Christ the King Lutheran Church in Coeur d’Alene will host several services Sunday. A sunrise service will be at 6:30 a.m. at the church, 1700 Pennsylvania Ave. Two community Easter services will be at 9 and 11 a.m. at the North Idaho College auditorium. Child care will be provided.

The 11 a.m. worship service will be broadcast live on KVNI radio.
