Gilman ‘Gil’ Norgaard Coeur d’Alene

Service for Gilman “Gil” Norgaard, 71, will be today at 11 a.m. at English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d’Alene. Burial will follow at Forest Cemetery, Veterans of Foreign Wars Section.

Mr. Norgaard, who was born in North Dakota, died Thursday.

He had served in the Navy during World War II and the Korean War.

Mr. Norgaard moved to Coeur d’Alene 10 years ago from New York.

He was a member of the American Association of Retired Persons, National Rifle Association, Disabled Veterans of New York and Veterans of Foreign Wars in Coeur d’Alene.

Survivors include his wife, Eileen; a son, Allen Norgaard of Coeur d’Alene; two daughters, Carol Gunther of New York and Darlene Gardner of Loffs Bay, Idaho; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Mary Manos Spokane

Trisagion for Mary A. Manos, 81, was Sunday. Service will be at 11 a.m. today at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. Burial will follow at Pines Cemetery.

Mrs. Manos, who was born in Yale, Mich., died Thursday.

She and her husband, Christ, were fruit and vegetable farmers in the Spokane Valley.

She was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church and was a charter member of the Daughters of Penelope.

Her husband died in 1977.

Mrs. Manos is survived by a daughter, Pearl Pavlos of Vancouver, Wash.; a son, James Manos of Spokane; two sisters, Margarite Gumenberg and Irene VanRenterham, both of Spokane; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the church.

Bob Lockhead Spokane

Memorial service for John Robert “Bob” Lockhead will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Millwood Presbyterian Church. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Lockhead, 89, died Thursday.

He was born in Towner, N.D.

He was a North Central High School graduate and worked as a milkman for Broadview Dairy for 15 years.

During World War II he worked as a machinist. He later worked for McCollum-Crawford Motors and McVay Bros.

In 1963 he purchased the Third Avenue tool rental, which he renamed B B Rents, after himself and his son, Bruce, who later became his partner.

Mr. Lockhead was a member of Millwood Presbyterian Church, the Rock Rollers and the Columbian Geological Society.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Anna Mae Lockhead; a daughter, Ellen Dimond of Spokane; two sons, Harvey and Bruce Lockhead, both of Spokane; a sister, Jemima “Jimmy” Brinnon of Bellevue, Wash.; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
