The Cardinals parlayed Sean Boesch’s bulldog pitching, Nate Lynch’s sparkling catch and a bit of good fortune into a victory over the Chukars in Coeur d’Alene.

The win gave NIC (16-18 overall, 7-11 league) a series sweep and vaulted the Cardinals into the Region 18 Tournament for the first time since 1988. NIC, third in Region 18 North, will face tourney host Dixie, the No. 1 seed in the South, on Thursday night in St. George, Utah.
