Daly Plans Golf Return At Event In Pennsylvania

Compiled From Wire Services

John Daly, who leaves alcohol rehabilitation on Friday, has scheduled his first public golf appearance since undergoing treatment at the Betty Ford Center.

Daly, who entered the clinic after a wild night of drinking March 27 at the Players Championship in Jacksonville, Fla., will be one of three dozen pros at the Mystic Rock Pro-Am near Pittsburgh on Memorial Day, his agent said. The tournament is a fund-raiser for the Leukemia Society and also will feature Tiger Woods, PGA champion Mark Brooks and Mark O’Meara.

The May 26 event will be at the Nemacolin Resort, a 36-hole facility 60 miles south of Pittsburgh. One source familiar with the event said Woods was paid $350,000 to appear.
