East Sherman Gets Sidewalk Fix-Up

From Staff And Wire Reports

Crews put the finishing touches on East Sherman’s sidewalks this week.

They’ve also been able to prepare the road base for paving - work that had been delayed because of rain and foul weather. Officials heading up the improvement project thanked Coeur d’Alene residents for minimizing their use of the arterial last week as workers scrambled to keep the project on track.

Hydroseeding was also finished last week on surrounding green areas.

Crews anticipate setting light poles along Sherman next week, as well as applying the first asphalt between 18th and Seventh streets. Weather permitting, they could apply the final layer of asphalt from 22nd to Seventh streets by the end of the week.

Officials say work could be completed as early as May 21, a month ahead of schedule.
