Continental Wins Favorite Airline Poll

Continental and America West airlines were voted most popular airlines by readers of Frequent Flyer magazine.

Continental won the second straight year in the long-flight category, while America West was picked for the best short trips in the survey by Frequent Flyer and J.D. Power and Associates, the magazine announced Wednesday.

The magazine said Continental rated highly in on-time performance, schedule and flight accommodations and airport check-in.

America West’s top ranking resulted from top performance in several areas, including on-time performance, schedule and flight accommodation, seating comfort and gate location, the magazine said.

The award was based on about 7,000 flight evaluations from persons who take more than 25 trips a year.
