Hints From Heloise

King Features Syndicate

Dear Heloise: I always save empty dish-liquid plastic bottles with the pop-up tops. The new ultrashort fat ones are best.

I refill them with shampoo and creme rinse for my kids’ shower. No more spilling shampoo, broken-off flip-tops, missing lids or shampoo that’s half-water from no top. They are easy to squeeze and great for camping! - Susan Lee, Buena Park, Calif.

Dear Heloise: Please tell your readers about the importance of putting ID tags on pets.

After losing our dog last night, we received a call first thing in the morning from the people who found him. Without the tag, it would have taken much longer to find him. - Veronica R., Laredo, Texas

Thanks for this very important message. Our pets cannot speak for themselves and when out of their own environment are very vulnerable. With up-to-date rabies or ID tags, a pet can be easily and quickly reunited with its family.
