Wine, Beer Tasting Event Will Benefit Food Bank

The lavish spread at a benefit from 6 until 9 next Tuesday evening at the Spokane Arena elevates finger food to a celestial level.

Dozens of restaurants will offer heavenly tidbits to nosh with some of the region’s best-known wines and beer during the third annual Taking a Bite Out of Hunger tasting and auction. For instance, Clinkerdagger will serve crab cakes, Chapter 11 will offer pint-size prime rib sandwiches and the Bayou Brewing Company will dish out its jambalaya and pecan pie. More than 20 eateries will be providing goodies.

Participating vintners include Gordon Brothers, Erath Vineyards, Hogue Cellars, Chateau Ste. Michelle, Latah Creek and Worden’s. There will also be wines from Australia and California. Hale’s Ale, Pyramid and Widmer will be among the breweries serving hand-crafted suds.

Tickets for the event are $35 ($60 per couple). Proceeds benefit The Spokane Food Bank. To purchase tickets, call 534-6678.
