EV Celebrates With Spotlight

East Valley School District honored parents, teachers, retirees and other staff this week.

The banquet, a Mexican meal served by sombrero-wearing administrators and school board members, was East Valley’s third annual Spotlight on Education.

Honors went to:

Rondy and Alan Alexander, Judi Christianson, Vicki Dodson, Judy Ostrom, all of whom have children attending Skyview Elementary School, and Debbie Matthew, a parent at Trentwood.

Teachers who received honors were Sandy Shay, seventh-eighth grade teacher at Mountain View Middle School; Dave Smith, eighth-grade science teacher at Mountain View; Doug Deabler, science teacher at East Valley High School; Jim Clements, football coach at East Valley High; LeAnn Luiten, special education teacher at Trentwood Elementary; Janet Carlson, special education teacher; Bruce Fulkerson, counselor at Trentwood Elementary; Nancy Larson, fifth-grade teacher at Skyview; Karin Steever, first-grade teacher at Skyview; Pat Orebaugh, fourth-grade teacher at Skyview; and Bill Nuchols, fifth-grade teacher at Skyview.

Support staff honored included Stevie Skidmore, Shirley Olson, Teri DeWitt, John Siverson, Janet Brown, Kathleen Goggin, Susan Liljenberg, Greta Pool and Denise Duran.
