Dr. Henry Berman, president of Group Health Northwest, has been named a vice president of Kaiser/ Group Health, the newly formed alliance between Kaiser Permanente and Group Health Cooperative of Puget Sound, the parent of Group Health Northwest.
Berman will continue to manage the health maintenance organization’s operations in eastern and central Washington and in North Idaho. Group Health Northwest has 190,000 members.
Berman joined Group Health in 1981 as medical and executive director. He became president and chief executive officer a year later.
He has been a board member for several civic, professional and academic groups.
In addition to his appointment, Kaiser Group Health announced designation of Cheryl Scott as president of Group Health Cooperative, and Barbara West as senior vice president of Kaiser/ Group Health, which will have about 1.1 million members in the Washington, Idaho and Oregon.
