Border Patrol Agent Released From Hospital
A U.S. Border Patrol agent was released from the hospital Sunday, a day after he was wounded by gunfire from across the Mexican border.
No arrests have been made in the shooting early Saturday. Patrols have been increased on both sides of the border.
The agent, a married man in his 20s, has been on the force for three years. He was alone in a marked Border Patrol vehicle near the border crossing when someone in a car on Mexico’s Ensenada Highway fired six to 10 bullets.
Two pierced the windshield and grazed his head and shoulder. A third struck the hood of the Ford Bronco.
The attack was unprovoked, U.S. officials said.
