Bowl Alliance Challenged

Compiled From Wire Services

Former Brigham Young tight end Chad Lewis told a Senate antitrust subcommittee that the Bowl Alliance is unfair and bans underdogs from a shot at a national title.

“Part of the excitement of sports is the enthusiasm created by a Cinderella team beating the odds,” Lewis said. “Let’s not allow the Bowl Alliance to crush that glass slipper before anyone has a chance to even try it on.”

Lewis joined Utah Sen. Bob Bennett and Western Athletic Conference Commissioner Karl Benson before the Senate Judiciary Committee’s subcommittee on Antitrust, Business Rights and Competition.
