San Jose Closes Gap

Compiled From Wire Services

San Jose State, led by individual leader Janice Moodie, moved within two shots of defending champion Arizona in the team race at the NCAA Division I women’s golf championship.

Moodie followed an opening 4-under-par 68 with a 74 to stand at 2-under 142 through 36 holes. That was good for a two-stroke lead over Arizona State’s Kellee Booth and Tennessee’s Jessica Lindbergh.

Arizona stands at 590 at the tournament’s midpoint at Ohio State’s Scarlet Course.
