Hints From Heloise

King Features Syndicate

Dear Heloise: In 1977 I bought a new tea kettle. I put a plain old marble (the kind kids play with) in it and it has never had any lime deposits. - V. Chrastil, Omaha, Neb.

Don’t you love this bouncing marble trick? Just pour out the water and rinse the tea kettle once in a while voila, no hard-water buildup. Heloise

Dear Heloise: To remove tinted film on a window, use a hair dryer on the High setting. Heat the film in one corner until you can pick the corner away from the window.

Continue this procedure with the dryer and you will remove all the film and adhesive in one simple operation. - Dick Troup, Keizer, Oregon.

Dear Heloise: When I iron, I keep a pair of scissors handy for trimming threads from garments as I go. This keeps me from forgetting to do this.

I am a longtime fan of yours. Keep those wonderful hints coming! - Merle Hayes, Fayetteville, N.C.
