Pullman Seeks Musicians For Series Of Park Concerts
Pullman Parks and Recreation is looking for a variety of musical groups to play in the Concert in the Parks Series this summer. It wants groups that will appeal to a wide range of people, especially families. Performances will be each Wednesday from 6 to 7:30 p.m., June 25 to July 16.

Artist Claryn Reid will teach a greeting-card workshop from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, at the Spokane Art School, 920 N. Howard.
A variety of techniques to create unique cards will be taught. No experience is required. Cost is $23. Call the school at 328-0900 to register.
Auditions for Cutter Theatre’s summer production of “The Fantasticks” will be from 1 to 3 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, June 1, at the theater, at 302 Park Ave. in Metaline Falls.
The cast calls for one woman, 16 to 25, and seven men ages 18 to 70. Singing is required. Rehearsals begin in mid-June; performances are scheduled for July 24-26 and Aug. 29-31. For more information, call (509) 446-4108.
Ballet Northwest will hold auditions for its 1997-98 season at the Conservatory of Classical Dance in Eugene, Ore., at 10:30 a.m. this Saturday.

Idaho artists honored
Andria Marcussen of Moscow, and Will Venard of Bonners Ferry, received awards for their art works at the recent Lewis-Clark Juried Art Exhibit.
Marcussen received Best of Show, Three Dimensional for “Chair with Fables.” Venard was awarded First Place, Three Dimensional, for “Hyperactive Shovel.”
Sweet, sweet music
Spokane artist Marian Flahavin’s pastel painting, “Music of Angels,” was selected for exhibition in the annual International Open Juried Exhibition of the Pastel Society of the West Coast. The exhibition will be at the Tower Theatre Gallery in Roseville, Calif., through May 31.
Artists and craft makers are invited to submit applications for the annual s.m.ART Art and Craft Festival in St. Maries, July 19 and 20.
More than 50 booth spaces are available, and early submission increases the chance of acceptance. Deadline for a booth is June 21. A web site to highlight Northwest art galleries is being designed by ArtSight to provide a single location for gallery information and each gallery’s own web address and home page.
ArtSight is accepting information from galleries which want to be included on the web site, expected to be on line June 5. Data can be submitted through slides, hard copy or computer disk.
