Council Considers Lease For Temporary Salty’s Tenant

From Staff And Wire Reports

The vacant Salty’s on the Falls restaurant site is likely to get a temporary tenant.

Spokane City Council members on Tuesday will consider an 18-month lease of the riverfront location to J.E.S. for You Food, Inc., for $2,500 a month.

The catering business will hold special events at the scenic spot but won’t be open on a day-to-day basis, said Mayor Jack Geraghty.

Council members also will consider a contract to build cart paths at the city’s four golf courses and a pedestrian path at Mission Park.

S.R. Sicilia, Inc., of Spokane, will build more than 7,500 feet of pathway under the $99,330 contract.

The two contract items will be discussed during the council’s 3:30 p.m. briefing session in the lower-level conference room of City Hall, 808 W. Spokane Falls Blvd.

The regular meeting, which features only a few routine items, starts at 6 p.m.

The council meets Tuesday due to the Memorial Day holiday.
